The Story

The Cannonau Costera is produced by the Cantina Argiolas which has created a fascinating cohesion with the territory in Sardinia for three generations. The family business was founded in the late 1930s and over the years has managed to become one of the most important wineries on the island. Today Argiolas is a symbol of sustainability, with chemicals reduced to a minimum, the vines are a precious heritage and the point of origin of production. Over the years, the agricultural system has also advanced and today each of the company's estates is controlled and studied through a geolocalization system that allows remote monitoring of the condition of the plants and consequently also the interventions to be carried out to improve their health and extend their life.

The Costera is a Cannonau di Sardegna DOC with a robust and intense body produced from the native grapes of the Sisini estate. The estate is located in the Trexenta region which, with its calcareous soil and rich in sandstone is perfect for the production of Cannonau grapes. Fermentation and maceration take place at a controlled temperature of around 30°C for approximately 10/12 days in total and is followed by malolactic fermentation in glass-lined concrete tanks. Before being bottled, the wine ages in small oak barrels for about 10 months. This well-structured Cannonau di Sardegna with a very vinous aroma speaks of the tradition, quality, and craftsmanship of Sardinian winemaking, which come together through the island's most representative grape.
