The Story

Ca' dei Frati Lugana I Frati is a Lugana DOC white wine, produced in Lombardy, in the area of lower Lake Garda. It is the flagship product of the I Frati Lugana winery, located in Lugana di Sirmione and founded in 1939. Ca' dei Frati Lugana is produced exclusively with Turbiana grapes, the native grape par excellence of lower Lombardy, which is also known as Trebbiano di Lugana. This white wine follows a rather long and complex winemaking process. The grapes are harvested from various local vineyards, all grown on clay and limestone soils, after careful selection of the best berries. The wine is vinified in steel barrels, where it is then aged for at least six months with selected fine yeasts. The uniqueness of this product lies in the fact that it is left to age for an additional six months in glass bottles before being released for sale. It can be consumed immediately in the year of bottling, but the winery itself recommends appreciating it after a few years, letting it age in its bottle in a cool area away from direct light. This allows it to fully express its potential in terms of flavor and aroma. Ca' dei Frati Lugana I Frati has received significant national and international recognition over the years.
