The Story
The Chiaretto Rosa dei Frati is produced by the Cà dei Frati winery, an ancient Lugana di Sirmione company since 1782, which has always vinified each vineyard separately to guarantee a clear image of its "terroir" and keep its wines intact and long-lived. Cà dei Frati pays great attention to the health of each vine, in fact the vegetative cycle is a priority; from the so-called "weeping of the vine" in March, when small drops of sap that resemble tears form, to the resting phase that begins with the fall of the leaves in November. These attentions culminate in the achievement of the final goal: to create a wine that is the portrait of the Garda terroir.
The Cà dei Frati Chiaretto Rosa dei Frati is a rosé that surprises with its authority and knows how to be the protagonist of the table thanks to its incisiveness and freshness. Produced from a blend of Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese and Barbera grown in calcareous, clayey, silty and sandy soils to obtain a well-rounded product that can benefit from the advantages of each individual type of soil composition. It is fermented in steel with a light maceration contact and skips malolactic fermentation to avoid gaining too much softness. Before being released for sale, it is aged in steel on its fine lees for 6 months and left to rest for 2 months in the bottle to stabilize. The result is a slightly acidic, tasty, and fresh wine that stimulates the palate.
