The Story

Still red, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, 16% ABV, produced by Casa Lupo. Blend: 65% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella. 0.75L bottle, 2020 vintage. An Amarone born from the passion of Casa Lupo, a new chapter in Paladin's winemaking history, which recounts the pride of Valpolicella. The soils are the product of the alteration of calcareous-fossil formations, particularly the Scaglia Rossa and Biancone. The harvest takes place in several stages during the last two weeks of September to allow for optimal ripening of the grapes. The grapes are hand-picked and left to dry in the drying room. Fermentation and maceration take place in small steel vats. The wine is aged in 500,000-liter oak barrels, where it will remain for approximately 18-24 months. The nose is dominated by ripe red berries, small berries such as currants, blueberries, black cherries, and jam, with a final bouquet of spicy vanilla notes. A dark garnet red in color. Rich and elegant on the palate, it is a wine of great structure.
