The Story
A sweet, moldy white passito made from Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC, 12.5% ABV, produced by CasalFarneto. 100% Verdicchio Bianco. 0.375 L bottle, 2017 vintage. A passito made in the Marche region, from grapes dried for at least three months with a partial presence of noble rot. After about three months of drying in the cellar, the grapes are pressed, which is extremely gentle but lengthy. Aged in steel tanks, it then matures for two years in small wooden barrels and continues in bottles for at least another year. Intense aromas of citrus, candied fruit, exotic fruit, and elegant tertiary aromas. Golden yellow with amber reflections, with great consistency. Pleasantly sweet, warm, and enveloping, with great softness and texture. On the palate, the notes perceived on the nose of exotic fruit of peach and ripe apricot are confirmed, integrated with notes of spices with a honeyed finish of great persistence.
