The Story

Franciacorta Riserva Extra Brut, produced by Castello Bonomi, 12.5% ABV, 2009 vintage. A Franciacorta born on the slopes of Monte Orfano in Lombardy, with a history rooted in the Middle Ages. Blend: 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed in a completely inert environment. Fermentation for the Chardonnay takes place in French oak barrels at a controlled temperature, and the lees are continuously stirred using the battonage technique. The Pinot Noir, on the other hand, remains in stainless steel and is blended in spring. After secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine ages on the lees for 144 months. The Pinot Noir expresses its power and, together with the Chardonnay, offers a great concentration of white-fleshed fruit, which blends well with a sensation of dried fruit, honeyed notes, and white lime blossom. It has a captivating straw yellow color. Riserva Lucrezia Etichetta Bianca enjoys great balance. The sapidity is the most persistent sensation, accompanied by a consistently acidic and upright palate.
