Col D'Orcia Olmaia 2018

Still organic red wine from Tuscany IGT, 14.5% ABV, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, produced by Col d'Orcia in Montalcino. 0.75 l bottle, 2018 vintage. A wine born from a passion for the territory and the expertise of a historic winery, present since 1933. Fermentation takes place in 50 hl steel vats. Maceration lasts approximately 20 days at a controlled temperature of 25-28°C, with two daily pumpings over and three long delestages on the third, fifth, and seventh days of fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in steel. First racking directly into barriques. Aged for 18 months in medium-toasted French oak (95%) and American oak (5%) barriques. Ample, rich, and complex, it combines notes of ripe red fruits (mulberry and berries) with delicate hints of vanilla and toast. Ruby red with intense purple reflections. A wine of great structure and intensity, on the palate it highlights all its enveloping personality, with velvety and ripe tannins and a long persistence.
