The Story
The Charme Rosato is born from the Borgo Guarini estate thanks to a terroir enhancement project that Firriato has implemented in the extraordinary agricultural areas of the province of Trapani since the early 1980s. The company's passion for wine has led to experimentation with viticulture in all the territorial realities of Sicily; from the mountainous area of Etna, to the marine area of Favignana, also passing through the hilly from which the persuasive Charme Rosato comes to life. The Di Gaetano family's love for Sicily has also led to a study of individual terroirs, carefully pairing individual grape varieties, not focusing on a single grape type, but experimenting with the right blends of native vines for each territory.
Right at Borgo Guarini, immersed in the Trapani countryside on the hillsides, the best red grapes are selected, such as Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascarese, harvested by hand slightly early compared to full ripeness to safeguard aromatic content and acidity. This is where the production of Firriato Charme rosé begins, in calcareous-clayey soils excellent for balanced yet intense and energetic wines. Once the harvest is complete, and after a brief maceration, the grapes undergo a soft pressing to preserve the characteristics of the fruit and for a more uniform final result. This is followed by 15 days of fermentation in an autoclave at a controlled temperature and 3 months of aging “sur lie. The sparkling process adds liveliness and pleasantness to a wine that presents itself as a “celebration wine,” ideal for moments of pleasure thanks to its sparkling character and rich vitality.
