The Story

Still red Barolo DOCG Lazzarito Vigna Preve, 14.5% ABV, produced by Poderi Gianni Gagliardo, 2020 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the passion and tradition of the Colla family, with an intense and layered expression of Nebbiolo. The Poderi Gianni Gagliardo winery was born from a tradition of winemakers present in Piedmont since 1847. Generation after generation, the Colla family has moved from the Santo Stefano Belbo area, home of Moscato, to the area of great reds. It was in 1961 that Paolo Colla moved to La Morra, realizing his lifelong dream: producing Barolo. Maceration: 16 days. Aged 30 months in a single 2000-liter barrel. Austere nose, graphite and beaten match explode on the first nose of this renowned southwest-facing vineyard, rounded out by a bouquet of poppy seeds and cloves. Fig, cherry, and persimmon jam infused with lavender, black musk, and bergamot immerse you in the sinuous and layered expression of Barolo. Rich, ripe, linear tannins with balsamic gentian, sweet raisins, gentle dry tobacco, and fresh fern.
