The Story

Still white wine from Etna, 12.5% ABV, produced by Girolamo Russo. Blend: 70% Carricante, 8% Catarratto Bianco Comune, 8% Grecanico Dorato, 8% Grechetto, 6% Coda di Volpe. 0.75 L bottle, 2024 vintage. A white wine born on the slopes of the volcano, where the producer's expertise blends with the richness of the terroir. It ferments in wooden barrels, where it then ages on the lees for six months, completing the refinement with an additional six months in the bottle. Straw yellow with intense golden reflections. Extremely expressive on the nose, it reveals hints of tropical fruit, peach and yellow apple, floral notes of broom and chamomile, as well as mineral and vaguely vanilla nuances. The sip is all about the balance between creaminess and softness on one side, and freshness and minerality on the other, with a long persistence and a pleasantly savory finish.
