Pinot Noir is a wine with Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) produced 100% from Pinot Noir red grape varieties. The origin of this grape variety can be traced back to the French region of Burgundy. These vines, with small, compact bunches characterized by equally small berries, are grown in Trentino Alto Adige. The Pinot Noir from the Gottardi winery, also known as Südtiroler Blauburgunder, is produced precisely in the small village of Mazzon in the Bassa Atesina, an area that produces a still red wine of high quality. Thanks to the characteristics of the soil, rich in limestone and sandstone, as well as a microclimate more than favorable for the cultivation of Pinot vines, grown with total respect for the environment, this wine is the best of the Pinot Noirs of the Bel Paese. Before being bottled, the wine is aged in barriques for a minimum period of one year. To produce this special still red wine, the grapes are harvested and selected exclusively by hand. They are then treated with extreme care; even the red wine is meticulously transported by gravity. The fermentation of the grapes of this difficult Alto Adige grape variety is carried out in strictly open oak vats. The product is a pure wine with a good structure, very refined, perfectly suited to the growing area and the varietal, not surprisingly it is listed among the most prized red wines of Alto Adige.
