The Story

Marun organic still red Barbera d'Alba Superiore, 14.5% ABV, produced by Matteo Correggia. Vintage 2022. A wine that embodies the passion and dedication of Matteo Correggia, a producer who has elevated Barbera d'Alba to a level of excellence. A concentrated nose with notes of dark fruits such as blackberries, morello cherries, blueberries, and plums, alternating with black pepper, cocoa, cloves, cardamom, vanilla, licorice, balsamic accents, and the incipient etherealness of tobacco and Russian leather. Ruby red in color with violet reflections. On the palate, it is superb, with its full correspondence, masterful balance of its components, acidity, and silky tannins already integrated into the vigorous body. The endless finish is punctuated by graphite, cinchona, and Boero emerging in the aftertaste.
