The Story

Extra Brut Champagne, 12.5% ABV, produced by Pierre Baillette in the Champagne region. 0.75 L bottle, 2019 vintage. A Blanc de Blancs that embodies the elegance and sophistication of Champagne, made with Chardonnay grapes from Premier Cru vineyards. The Pierre Baillette winery is located in the municipality of Trois Puits, in the Montagne de Reims. Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir vines are grown on shallow, chalky limestone soils located on a rock layer typical of the area known as Craie du Campanien. This formation is characterized by its rich calcium content, which promotes the natural (and ideal) regulation of water availability in the soil. On the nose, floral and fruity aromas are accompanied by notes of brioche reminiscent of the long lees aging. Straw yellow in color with golden highlights. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, balanced, and mineral, with a fine and persistent perlage.
