A still red from Sicily, a Contea di Sclafani DOC, 14.5% ABV, produced by Tasca d'Almerita. Blend: 62% Nero d'Avola, 38% Perricone, 2019 vintage. A wine that embodies the history and passion of one of Italy's oldest wineries, founded in 1830. Hints of cherry, morello cherry, walnut husk, berries, vanilla, cinnamon, mint, sage, and tobacco blend into a complex and enveloping bouquet. The color is an intense ruby red with purple highlights. Rich in ripe and concentrated fruit, fragrant and balanced. Aged in 225-liter, 100% new French oak barrels (Allier and Tronçais). Bottled for 12 months. An ideal wine to accompany red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
