The Story
Barolo Monvigliero 2020, a still red from Piedmont, 14.5% ABV, produced by Sordo Giovanni. 100% Nebbiolo. 0.75L bottle. A Barolo born from the passion of the Sordo family, who have cultivated the vineyards of this unique area since 1912. The grapes come from the prestigious Monvigliero cru, in Verduno. Vinification involves fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with long submerged cap maceration lasting 4 to 7 weeks, depending on the vintage. Aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. The bouquet is rich, broad, and very persistent, with hints of fresh fruit, berries, sweet spices, mountain hay, and undergrowth. The color is beautiful, never too intense, yet very stable over time. The structure is very good; tannins and acids are very pleasantly balanced.
