Still red Etna DOC, 14.5% ABV, produced by Tenuta delle Terre Nere. Blend: 98% Nerello Mascalese and 2% Nerello Cappuccio. 0.75L bottle, 2022 vintage. An Etna Rosso that originates on the slopes of the volcano, in the San Lorenzo district, at 700-750 meters above sea level, where the volcanic soil and cool climate give the wine a unique character. Alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature (28-30°C), spontaneous malolactic fermentation, and maturation in barriques, tonneaux, and large French oak barrels (20% new wood) for 16-18 months. Bottling after 1 month of aging in stainless steel. Pale ruby with mahogany highlights. Structured and full-bodied, with present yet soft tannins.
