The Story

Still red from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 13.5% ABV, produced by Venica. 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, 2020 vintage. A wine that celebrates Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, a native Friulian grape, with an intense and enveloping expression. Since 1930, when grandfather Daniele purchased the main building of the company, time has passed, planting the seeds of a new generation ready to consolidate its roots. The threshold of time has been crossed, new energies and new perspectives are grafted onto the legacy of the past, a new era of Venica & Venica begins. Refosco grapes are highly tannic, and the cold climate of our vineyards requires very gentle maceration to avoid green extractions and achieve greater elegance, approximately 20 days from the start of spontaneous fermentation. Aging takes place in used French barrels and provides the right evolution while maintaining the varietal expression intact.
